Requisition Number 12-0059 Post Date 2/3/2012 Title Loan Officer Part Time No City Kirkland State WA Description Loan Officer will produce loans on income producing and commercial properties located in an assigned region and arrange financing for other institutional investors. Assists Regional Manager in coordinating activities of other Loan Officers. Essential Duties: . Develop a calling program to originate business within the assigned area. . Responsible for originating both permanent and construction loans for portfolio and other institutional lenders. . Analyze and pre-screen loan requests, structure financing to the lenders' requirements, negotiate loan applications, prepare and present loan requests for approval by the Intervest and Sterling credit committees. . Responsible for brokering approximately one-third of loans to life insurance companies. . Assist in the development and maintenance of correspondent relationships with life insurance companies, conduits, and other external lending sources. . Responsible for adherence to all Sterling procedures and processes, as well as applicable real estate laws and regulations. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Skills and Knowledge: 3 - 5 years of experience as a commercial/income property lending officer or more than 7 years of experience in real estate financing required. . Proven ability to structure and recommend real estate financing secured by property types readily acceptable in the secondary market (apartments, retail, offices, and warehouses). . Extensive knowledge of mortgage banking, including income property and real estate loan origination, negotiation, and presentation. . Knowledge of the real estate valuation and appraisal processes. Working knowledge of the investment parameters of life insurance companies and other institutional lenders. . Proven record of producing portfolio and brokerage business. Established customer base and calling program. . Ability to develop and maintain relationships with area businesses, life insurance companies, and other external lending sources, as well as prospective customers. . Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills required. Office Environment - no specific or unusual physical demands.
